This is a placeholder page for an upcoming MIDI Remote Script/iPad application combination for use with m4m8.

The Aum256 script is included in the m4m8 repository here:

m4m8 Github

You will need a current version of Live (10.1.14 currently) to use the script.

To install the script, you should copy the entire contents of m4m8/Python Scripts to ~/Music/Ableton/User Library/Remote Scripts folder. (This was recently changed from the old .app bundle contents location).

The script is capable of communicating with the included lemur template (m4m8/miscelaneous/aum256.jzml). Set the input/output ports of the Aum256 script in Live to the virtual ports assigned in the lemur app (port 0). If you're not using the lemur template, make sure the port assignments in Live's MIDI preferences for the Aum256 script are not assigned to anything.

The script is also capable of overriding three different Novation Launchpad scripts (Launchpad, Launchpad_MkII, and Launchpad Pro). When the Aum256 script is loaded, any instance of those stock scripts will load with an additional mod-mode attached to them. The behavior is slightly different for each Launchpad model:

  • For the original Launchpad (also LP mini mki), User2 button puts the device into "mod" mode, and also acts as a shift button while mod mode is active.
  • For the Launchpad MkII, User1 button puts the device into "mod" mode, and acts as a shift button while mod mode is active.
  • For the Launchpad Pro MkI, mod mode is always engaged whenever the controller is in Note mode and a mod device is the selected device in Live. The shift button works as the mod-shift button while a mod is the active device.

This script is in active development.
