With a little help from my friends….

Ok, I’m done mucking about with it.  Despite PLENTY of other obligations right now, I’ve managed to make the necessary changes to the installer and get most of the files together for b993.  Still not public, but if you want to test it and can provide proper feedback for what’s still lacking/not working, then hit me up, as I’m trying to tidy everything up for imminent release.

Thanks, as always 🙂

  1. I would love to test b993, I’m on Windows 7, ableton 8.2.2, m4l 5.1.9.

  2. I forgot to mention I’m using a launchpad.

  3. I have had trouble getting Win7 to load monomodular. Despite downloading and installing the SlikSVN tool, pressing the Subversion button on the installer does nothing more than opening up the Slik window in my browser yet again. I’m using Chrome but don’t expect that should be the problem. I would be interested in the build if possible (993) could get back with info on it. Thanks for your work and development of this tool.

    • Hey Mark,

Thanks for the interest. I’ve had nothing but trouble trying to get the Win7 installer working correctly, unfortunately. For me, usually if I restart Live after installing SlikSVN, things work as expected.

If you send me an email, I can send you a link to the current b993 package (which doesn’t require SVN), however there’s still an error with the installer no putting the MIDI Remote Scripts where they go, so you would have to copy them manually. I haven’t had time to deal with this, but hopefully will get to it early this week.

  4. Hey there,
had the same problem with the SilkSVN installer on win7 but somehow i got all the files where they belong.
only problem: i do think there is something wrong with the apc40 script…the scene launch buttons somehow dont work / the alternativ configuration doesnt work for me… running newest ableton on win7x64 with uptodate m4l…
i put the aumpc40 with apc 40 in- and output (track and remote on for input and output) as well as the monomod as a device…
somehow i cant get stuff like plinko working… its like i can push a button on the grid and the directional keys light up, but it has no effect…also, cant get connection with 7up and monolink…
    cheers

    • Hey Peter,

Glad you got things working. SlikSVN is a pain on Windows (this is what I’ve been hearing from most users), and although downloading from repository will still be an option on the next installer, the content will also be packaged for download seperately.

Regarding the APC40 script: I’ve updated the wiki with more current information on how that works:

      https://aumhaa.com/wiki/index.php?title=How_to_use_the_AumPC_scripts

Sorry about that, the documentation process has gotten off track over the last couple of months as I’ve taken on far too many other things (including getting b993 out). Hopefully I can get back to that agenda shortly.

Plinko is a rough one. It’s probably more about understanding how it works. I’d recommend starting out with tr256 to make sure everything is working as it should, and to get a feel for how the Monomodular interface works.

7up works with Win7 and MonoLink, but its not something I use so I’d be hardpressed to tell you the details. I have several users that have it working, though. It usually comes down to getting the ports and prefixes assigned correctly. If you aren’t in immediate need, though, the b993 release will include a much better solution for using monome patches outside of m4l (and won’t require m4l at all), check it:

The m4l MonoLink will still be supported, but this new solution will bypass m4l (and everything else) all together!

      Thanks for the feedback 🙂
