Alias 8 Script help

hey there
new here
i’m using Alias 8 with Live 11 and aumhaa remote script
i would like to do two things
but have no idea how…
1. i would like to access device control – blue hand – with the dials
2. i would like to use the bottom row of buttons for something other than Arm – as i don’t really use the arm buttons

i’m quite handy with Max
but wordy code slides all over the screen as i am dyslexic
i’m not sure whether the code is sitting in there somewhere or not

i have set up the configuration file to give me device control on channel 2
but there’s no access to mutes using that method

hope someone can help

Hey Dave, welcome

The Alias8 script didn’t include any device controls, but it’s not that hard to set them up via the script if you want to muck about with it. I can have a look a bit later today probably and hopefully help you out.

I assume by “configuration” file you mean the User Mappings files that Ableton provides functionality for….tbh I haven’t used that in ages so I’m not sure what to tell you, but if you link me what you’ve written maybe I can offer some advice.

For any of the stock script functions that you want to override, you can simply use the User Mappings (command+M) to remap the buttons to controls in Live, and that would override the script. Unfortunately that wouldn’t provide dynamic mappings, though, which I expect is what you’re after?

thanks for responding so quickly…
you’re right is dynamic mapping i’m after
i could use something else but the Alias8 is the perfect size/format for me…
the config file is no good – it is very limited

i have in my mind how i think it ‘should’ function
i would like to be able to switch the dials between sends 1&2 to sends 3&4 to device control
using the bottom row of buttons as control switches – also to move a rectangle left & right

i spent yesterday with j74 generic script only to notice it is 6 years old and no longer functions
your assistance would be appreciated
