Just got turned on to this jazz. It’s pretty cool, and may help us Livid folks make custom mappings among other things.

You know the red box” in Ableton that outlines the grid within clip launch that your controller buttons are currently going to trigger? Well, you can do cool stuff, like customize that.

You can create a whole, new mapping, out of multiple MIDI Controllers. I have the Launchpad, Launch Control, and Launch Control XL, for example. I want them all to work together, and have that “Red box” move with all three controller at once. I can do this, along with a custom mapping of how I want each “channel strip” (that I have made out of the three controller one positioned above the next.)

So moving the red box would move it for all three controllers, so the channels stay aligned.

So? What does this have to do with Livid?

Well, there is a Livid one mapped for this SW. Not sure which mapping (from Livid) it is based on yet, and I see that as a nightmare if it isn’t the one with the drum and midi sequencers. But, assuming I can get it working, I’d want to be able to use that Launchpad scenario for clip Launching, and the CNTRL:R for sequencing and FX routing. Or at least sequencing and hopefully being able to have my Brain Jr. creation within the same mapping as the Livid one, so I can always use them together.

We shall see. I got deal on the SW (usually 100, but 55 for this week) and I want to give it a shot. remotify.io is the website.

I’ll update if it’s worth your time. I will probably come crawling back here for info I need to feed into this software before I am done. Or drive myself nuts and go play in traffic.
