    I followed the protocols outlined in the ‘Apple Logic and DS1’ Wiki doc I luckily downloaded a few years ago before it disappeared from the Livid site but the mapping between the Alias8 and Logic has always been inconsistent. It’s always a gamble whether Logic will even detect the Alias8, even after I manually set the Input and Output Ports to ‘Alias_8 A8_Controls’ and modify assignments from the ‘Control Surfaces > Controller Assignments’ menu.

    When I’m able to pair them (often after much troubleshooting), I’m able to map certain controls but not others. Logic never ever recognizes the buttons, for instance.

    Is there any particular reason that Logic was not part of the Alias8 integration guide? I attempted to mimic the setups outlined in the Ableton and Reason videos to no avail.

    I wonder if the inconsistent connection issues have something to do with out-of-date firmware. I tried to update it but the link is currently broken.

    Long story short: I’d really appreciate some help integrating the Alias8 with Logic.

    Hey there,

    I think that the work for Logic implementation was done much later than the other scripts for Bitwig and Live.

    I didn’t really do any work on the Logic implementation. I have no idea how it even works. There are a lot of things you can do within Logic itself to enable some auto mapping features, have you tried any of those methods?

    If it makes you feel any better, I’ve always had just as much trouble pairing an MCU or HUI with more recent versions of Logic. Its always a hassle and wastes much time in my life. I don’t know why things have gotten less reliable, but it does seem to be an issue with newer versions of Logic.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for getting back to me! I have another controller that was easy to auto assign/map in Logic but I haven’t had much luck with the Alias8. Again, certain knobs or faders will get mapped to random controls and others will not.

    Do you have a private link to download the most recent firmware?
