    Hi all.
Anyone have Firmware / editor downloads for the Livid Instruments Code? I’m on a Mac. The online code editor doesn’t work. I’m running the original firmware on my code. If anyone has any suggestions where I can find the updated software I’d be grateful. Cheers!

I probably have some firmwares for it. I’ll have a look to see…..I still use my Code a lot, so I should be able to help.

I bet you’re using the wrong link for the online editor. There are a couple that are out there, and I had the same problem when I tried several months ago, but then I found the correct one:

Let me know if you still can’t get the editor to work, and I’ll have a look to see if I have any of the older Max-based editors for it.

    Try these:

    [aumhaa.com/livid_archive/Code/Code_Editor_V2_208-OSX.dmg](http://www.aumhaa.com/livid_archive/Code/Code_Editor_V2_208-OSX.dmg “aumhaa.com/livid_archive/Code/Code_Editor_V2_208-OSX.dmg”)

    [aumhaa.com/livid_archive/Code/code_222_BL.hex](http://www.aumhaa.com/livid_archive/Code/code_222_BL.hex “aumhaa.com/livid_archive/Code/code_222_BL.hex”)

I think you may have better luck with the link I sent earlier for the online editor than you will with application version, but please let us know either way!

Much appreciated. I currently have firmware 0.1.0.0 which shows you how out of date my code is. I put it away for years. However found a use for it again in my studio. The link you provided allows me to select the port, however it hangs up and doesn’t allow me to edit. I’ve tried on a few browsers, still getting the same issue. I’m almost certain it’s because my firmware is so far behind. Any files you have would really be helpful. My email is Krisnaphtali@me.com

Thanks again for your time and efforts.

Ahhh, yeah you’re probably right….its probably because the firmware is so old (hopefully, anyway). Interested to hear how it turns out, and always glad to help :) I didn’t try opening the editor, so not sure how that will go….you may need an older than current operating system for it to work right.

Do you by chance have any firmware updates laying around? Thanks so much for the above files. Really appreciate your help, it truly means a lot.

The code_222_BL.hex is the firmware file. I think that firmware updates were handled by the editor….am I mistaken?

Ahhh, my bad. Yes, there is a firmware updater, gimme a few and I’ll post it as well.

That’s correct, sorry it’s been a while since I’ve used my code. Thank you. Sadly the downloadable editor you provided isn’t compatible with my mac. I’ll have to try and fuss about with the online editor a bit.

    Here’s the firmware tool:

    [aumhaa.com/livid_archive/FirmwareUpdater/Livid_Firmware_Update_117_osx.zip](http://www.aumhaa.com/livid_archive/FirmwareUpdater/Livid_Firmware_Update_117_osx.zip “aumhaa.com/livid_archive/FirmwareUpdater/Livid_Firmware_Update_117_osx.zip”)

I have a working copy of the Code editor on my mac, it isn’t the same version as the one I sent (that one will not work on my mac either). If you can’t get the online editor to work after the firmware update, hit me again and I’ll try to figure out where the installed, working one came from.

*Update. It worked! My code is up to date, and the online editor is working perfectly. Thank you so much, you really made my day! I was so gutted because I use to love my Code. Thankful I can get it up and running again in my studio in 2020. Cheers!

Hello. I’m new in this forum. I have drawn my old Livid Code v2 midi controller out of the closet. I need to update firmware, encoder sensitivity and MIDI channel. I use Windows 10 so I can’t use the mac software shown in this thread. (i.e. I also have a Mac High Sierra, but will try Win 10 first).
The online editor that worked in 2020 doesn’t seem to work now in 2021. I have downloaded the Code Editor 2.09 by  Peter Nyboer, but haven’t tested it yet. I don’t know which firmware is on my Code2, and probably need a firmware update.

In case you’re interested in some tech nerdy stuff…
I intend to use it together with AKAI APC40II with Ableton Live 10, run on a windows 10  laptop. The APC40 will deal with clips and volume faders, and I need the Code2 encoders for the effects rack, similar setup on each Ableton audio channel.
Vertical row number 1 on the Code2 will control Ableton channel 1, encoder number 1 (top) controls reverb, encoder 2 delay, encoder 3 tremolo, encoder 4 (low) filter. Vertical row number 2 controls Ableton channel 2 and so on. Ableton Channel 1 is Kick drum, Ch 2 snare, Ch 3 Hihat, Ch 4 percussion, Ch 5 Bass, Ch 6 synth and so on.
When I try this setup there will be problems of MIDI merging/lack of separation, so I thought it would be wise to use the APC40 on MIDI Channel 1, and the Code2 on MIDI channel 2. I guess I need the Code editor to alter the default Code MIDI channel from 1 to 2. The rotating function on the Code encoders seem to have a sync/precision problem, and I have read that it’s possible to adjust the rotating sensitivity in the Code Editor. If this setup works I will have a more intuitive, user friendly man – machine interface, with focus on ears to hands, which is better than eyes to hands. Thanks! Greetings Aksel from Norway

Hey skramlounge, welcome to the forum :) You should be able to use the offline editor, which is available from a GitHub repository here:

    https://github.com/LividInstruments/Livid-Online-Editor/commit/f0ddc59224423a32b88f8f45656007d7e27a2cf4

There’s a readme file in there somewhere to give instructions. I tried it last week and everything is working for me on macOS with Chrome, but I haven’t had a chance to check on a Windows machine.

What you’re trying to do sounds totally feasible, let me know if you need more help and I’ll see what I can do. Time is tight for me right now but I’ll respond when I can ;)
