Participantdefinitely sounds like a hardware malfunction to me….unfortunately, its probably the one Livid controller I’ve never had out of its casing. I’m afraid I can’t be of much help on this one

ParticipantSomeone here was looking for some replacement encoders not long ago….too busy to find the post right now, but I know it’s here….

ParticipantNo, definitely TRS if I remember correctly. I had an expression pedal wired to my CNTRLR and a custom pedal wired to the expansion port, I think. I remember that only one pedal i had would work correctly, but I’m afraid it was too many years ago for me to recall the details. Youre on the right path, though. I think a roland ev-5 or a Moog expression pedal should work.
The Master Fader jitter you describe seems normal to me….it might be due to the impedance of the fader or something. You could try adding a resistor in series maybe? idk…just a thought.

ParticipantStill catching up, but I’ll have a look tomorrow. I don’t think my CNTRLR has a 1/4″ jack on it? I can’t remember….it’s probably just a momentary, a set up for like a sustain pedal if I remember correctly. It wouldn’t work really for the master fader that you’re talking about. That would be wired to the expansion port (8 or 10 pins) and then you’d have to set the dip-switches on the back of of the CNTRLR so that it knew which pins to look for on the header.
Barely conscious atm, but I’ll try to check in tomorrow!

ParticipantGlad to hear you found one! Sorry for the late reply, been moving…..but don’t hesitate to ask for help, I’m glad to offer whatever I can if time allows

ParticipantSorry, that doesn’t seem to be one I have anywhere
Anybody else have it?

ParticipantSorry for the delay, been busy. This is the most current I could find:

ParticipantDid you turn off the expansion slot dip switches on the back? Sometimes having them on can cause jitter/instability…..

ParticipantSorry, I don’t have an archive of this
If anyone can contribute, I’ll add it to the ftp. Thanks.

ParticipantThanks Mac_809…..tbh, I have plans to restore the Livid Wiki at some point if I have the data (I’m not sure, I have to look at what was sent to me), but I’m in the middle of a really jolting home relocation right now so I’m not sure when or if I’ll be able to accomplish it. In the meantime, one of the archive sites (wayback or archive.org) will hopefully be helpful.

ParticipantHey skramlounge, welcome to the forum
You should be able to use the offline editor, which is available from a GitHub repository here:
There’s a readme file in there somewhere to give instructions. I tried it last week and everything is working for me on macOS with Chrome, but I haven’t had a chance to check on a Windows machine.
What you’re trying to do sounds totally feasible, let me know if you need more help and I’ll see what I can do. Time is tight for me right now but I’ll respond when I can

ParticipantThere is an app, I think….I’m not totally sure they ever made a standalone for the Base. But the best way is probably to run the webpage locally:
https://github.com/LividInstruments/Livid-Online-Editor
Download the files, connect your device via USB, and load the index.html in GoogleChrome (doesn’t work in Safari, sorry).
Let me know if you have any trouble….I have it working here with my Livid Code, on 10.15/MBP.

ParticipantHey there,
I think that the work for Logic implementation was done much later than the other scripts for Bitwig and Live.
I didn’t really do any work on the Logic implementation. I have no idea how it even works. There are a lot of things you can do within Logic itself to enable some auto mapping features, have you tried any of those methods?
If it makes you feel any better, I’ve always had just as much trouble pairing an MCU or HUI with more recent versions of Logic. Its always a hassle and wastes much time in my life. I don’t know why things have gotten less reliable, but it does seem to be an issue with newer versions of Logic.

ParticipantSure, it should work the same. You’ll have to start from scratch with the newer version of the script I published for Live11. The majority of changes for the new scripts are fundamental syntactic things that were required due to the upgrade to Python3.
If you want to set it up in a way that I can incorporate it into the stock script with a flag in Map.py, I’d consider it for a PR. I like the idea of doing that sort of thing with these scripts, its just that it becomes increasingly hard to maintain this stuff with all the constant Live changes (they broke most of my debugging tools with the move to Python3, and some of the framework files won’t decompile now
). As long as I can rely on it being stable, I’m happy to incorporate it. Let me know if you need some more help

ParticipantSo sorry that I haven’t gotten back to you about this, I have actually looked for the information but couldn’t find anything useful. I’ll try to email someone that knows more than I do, no promises…..
